The Perfect Pothole

A Canadian couple has completely blown my mind with this innovative photography series.  My Potholes is a project that is fueled by their quest to find the "perfect pothole."  My favorite part of the entire project is that most of the shots are completely improvised on set.  The artists states that "camera placement and model angles and direction are discussed on the set, we didn't use photoshop to create the image or add props.  Since the POTHOLES series is shot entirely on location during uninterrupted traffic, vigilance is key."

Garden Art

I am loving the playfulness of these sculptures created by Michael Craig-Martin a contemporary artist from Dublin.  These particular works of art were on display in the Roche Court, a sculpture garden at the New Art Centre in the UK.  How fun would it be to have one of these in your backyard!

The Style of Music

As you can tell we are all very into music.  When I came across these prints I totally fell for them.  What a better combo than clothes and music I seriously can't think of anything!

Check them out, Moxy Creative House really hit it out of the park with this one.

Art Bistro

When I graduated from college with a degree in Studio Arts, a professor of mine introduced me to ArtBistro , it is the Monster of the art world.  The tips to becoming the artist of your choice are endless from children's book illustrator to animation.  A favorite thing of mine to do when I have some downtime is explore the portfolios of other artists and find inspiration.  This morning I came across this Graphic Design body of work by ExpressiveJ.  I just can't get enough...

Art Fair

This weekend is the Brookside Art Annual, April 29th-May 1st.  This is one of three that goes on in Kansas City and its a lot of fun because of the eclectic crowd that Brookside brings.  "The Brookside Art Fair is known for its festive atmosphere, hospitality, convenience and has become a must-attend event for artists and art seekers alike."

Here is just a taste of the artwork (mainly paintings) that I saw last year giving you an idea of what to expect

Check out the artists that will be there this year and hopefully you will find your favorites and some inspiration.

Globe Trottin'

I have a thing for globes lately and these are by far the best I have seen! Dr. Seuss quotes on a globe I mean you couldn't ask for anything better.  The artist who creates these lovely works of art is from the Bay Area and her blog shows you the whole process of working with vintage globes and adding recycled material to make each one unique.  Ah I want to be her, ok just owning one of her globes would be fine also.
