National Board of Review


The second critics awards (after The Gotham Awards), The National Board of Review, have revealed the winners...

For the past two years, the winner of the NBR’s best picture award winner has gone on to win the top Academy Award. Last year, Clint Eastwood, Anne Hathaway, Josh Brolin and Penelope Cruz took acting honors, the latter three of which went on to Oscar nominations. Cruz was the only double winner.
Here are the partial list of winners:
Best Film: Up In The Air

Best Director: Clint Eastwood, Invictus
Best Actor: Morgan Freeman, Invictus and George Clooney, Up In The Air (tie)

Best Actress: Carey Mulligan, An Education

Best Supporting Actor: Woody Harrelson, The Messenger

Best Supporting Actress: Anna Kendrick, Up In The Air

Best Animated Feature: Up

Best Ensemble Cast: It’s Complicated
