Review - The Adjustment Bureau

At first I was kinda against watching this movie at the cinemas... mostly coz Matt Damon's burned the bridge when it comes to playing the running type... yup, Bourne... seared into the mind already... but I did kinda like Emily Blunt, especially after her snappy assistant role in The Devil Wears Prada... but I stayed away still... until one fateful weekend when I found myself having the urge to have a movie marathon and there was nothing else on... oh, wait, it was either this one or Beastly... Teenage Beauty and the Beast or adult movie... no, not porn... but movies with adult actors...
So I went with The Adjustment Bureau... first of, the trailer did not really sold me on the movie... second, I loved this movie... it was not boring... or pretentious... or anything like that... and the chemistry between Damon and Blunt was just amazing...
The story is about Matt Damon's character who is running for the senate or something to that effect. He was not supposed to meet Emily Blunt's character but he did and that caused his character's path to stray from his intended path. That's where The Adjustment Bureau came in. They have to set him back to the path that he was supposed to be in. But he was having none of that, having fallen in love with her and went out of his way to make sure they are together. No matter how the bureau intervened.
Hmm, guess the bureau are angels? They work for the Chairman who is God apparently... but they did not get religious here at all, which is something I quite like... hehe...
I am so truly madly deeply in love with Emily Blunt... she's on her way to becoming one of my favorite working actresses today... the raw emotion... the subtle holding back... wow, she just blew my mind... plus, everything she said was charming and witty... kudos to the writers as well as her for delivering it nicely...
Matt Damon, as per usual, is quite good. I think he has been churning out good movies since Good Will Hunting...
However, the supporting characters were kinda bland and expressionless. But I guess that's how their characters are supposed to be yes?
Anyway, this movie exceeded my expectations and I came out from the cinema quite satisfied...

Matt Damon Condemns Sarah Palin - "Terrifying Possibility" - Watch Video

Damon compares the addition of Palin to the John McCain ticket to "a really bad Disney movie", and thinks it is crazy that this woman could become President, which he thinks is a really terrifying possibility.
Damon feels "there is a good chance that Palin will become president", apparently concerned about the age of hopeful John McCain, and says he does not want "a hockey mom from a small town in Alaska starring down Vladimir Putin."
Damon does seem to bring up some good points, and we have also wondered why everyone in the media as turned Sara Palin into a super-star. A year ago she was asked on camera about the VP position and she said she didn't even know what the Vice President did all day.
Compared to the years of experience that Democratic VP pick Joseph Biden brings to the table, we think the Palin choice may have been the end to John McCain's chances for the White House.

Matt Damon And Wife Luciana Give Birth To Baby Girl - Gia Zavala Damon

Damon, 37, met his wife Luciana, 32, during 2003 in Florida while working on "Stuck On You" with Greg Kinnear and Eva Mendes, where conjoined twins from Martha's Vineyard move to Los Angeles so that one of them can pursue an acting career.
The couple was married in December 2005 in New York City in a ultra-private ceremony attended by only the bride's daughter, Alexa, now 10, from a previous marriage. They have another daughter, Isabella, who was born in June 2006.
Matt Damon just completed work on the dramatic "Margaret", due in 2009 and starring Damon, Matthew Broderick and Anna Paquin. "Margaret" tells the story of a young woman (Paquin) who witnesses a bus accident, and is caught up in the aftermath, where the question of whether or not it was intentional affects the lives of many people.
Damon is also working on "The Informant" due next March, and "Green Zone", a thriller about a pair of CIA agents on the trail of certain Weapons of Mass Destruction and a foreign correspondent following their mission. Inspired by Imperial Life in the Emerald City.
