Actor Gary Coleman Has Died

UPDATE: Friday 5/28/2010

Gary Coleman has died. His wife Shanon made the decision to end life support and Gary died at 12:05 pm.

A representative issued the following statement:

"Thanks to everyone for their well wishing and support during this tragic time. Now that Gary has passed, we know he will be missed because of all the love and support shown in the past couple of days. Gary is now at peace and his memory will be kept in the hearts of those who were entertained by him throughout the years."

Actor Gary Coleman, who starred on the hit series "Different Strokes", has been hospitalized in Provo Utah.

News reports indicate that Coleman, 42, was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery after suffering a fall.

Little more is known about the circumstances or his prognosis.

Coleman was admitted to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and his brother-in-law told reporters the actor was in critical condition.

UPDATE: Friday 5/28/2010 - The family reports that Coleman is unconscious and on life support after suffering an intracranial hemorrhage.

Gary Coleman Rushed To Hospital

Troubled ex-child star Gary Coleman was rushed to the hospital about eight o'clock this morning for what some are calling a seizure.

Coleman, who has had two kidney transplants, is believed to suffer from the kidney disease nephritis.

The 41-year-old actor was doing press-work for his latest movie, "Midgets vs. Mascots", when he became ill. Friends called 911 and he was transported to the hospital.

His agent told the staff of People Magazine that the actor was feeling fine once he arrived and received care.

The "Different Strokes" veteran is currently living in Santaquin, Utah near Salt Lake City.

"Midgets vs/ Mascots" is a comedy filmed as a documentary that follows ten contestants as they compete for $1 million dollars in prize money.

Gary Coleman Hits Man With Truck Police Say

Troubled actor Gary Coleman struck a man with his truck after arguing with him in a Utah bowling alley, police said.

Payson police Lt. Bill Wright said Colt Rushton and Gary Coleman got into an argument early Saturday morning over photos Rushton had snapped of Coleman inside the bowling alley.

Police say the scuffle continued outside, and that Coleman struck Rushton and another car as he was leaving the parking lot.

Neither man was arrested, and Police say it's not clear if Coleman hit Rushton on purpose or by accident, as neither party gave police much information. Police say there are "indications" that alcohol was a factor in the accident.

"We're currently trying to sort through those issues," Wright told the Deseret News of Salt Lake City. "We've been able to establish there was an argument between the two, over some photos Rushton wanted to take of the actor."

Rushton was rushed to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries and later released.
