American Idol: Top 9

Oh, what a week!  The worst singers in the world were finally voted off last Thursday, and I couldn't be happier!
Now that we're down to the Top 9, we have a little predicament: the remaining contestants are all good!  No one made my ears bleed during last night's performance...  So who will go home?  I have NO idea.  Therefore, I'm just going to pick my least favorite for the bottom 3, and hope for the best.

American Idol Top 9 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night Recap Time!

UPDATE: Another one bites the dust!  Pia has gone home!  Some people seem SO surprised.  Not me.  She was dull, dull, dull.  Sorry, Pia.  Best of luck to you.)

Jacob Lusk: Please Stay (Update: Bottom 3)
Michael Jackson's "Man In The Mirror"

Great job, Lusky!  His earpiece must not have been working, because he took it out at the beginning of the performance, and he still killed it.

Haley Reinhart: You have my permission to stay
Janis Joplin's "Piece Of My Heart"

Ever since her amazing performance last week, my opinion of Haley has gone up considerably.  She gave another good performance last night, so it seems she's really hit her stride.  Proud of you, Haley!

Side note: My dad did not enjoy Haley's performance.  But he smokes crack almost daily.

Casey Abrams: STAYING STAYING STAYING!
Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Have You Ever Seen The Rain"

My love for Casey runs deep, as the mountain's wings, on eagles soar.

Casey brought his upright bass out last night!  He always seems to be at his very best with his bass.  Loved it!

Lauren Alaina: I like you, but you're in my Bottom 3.  The top of my Bottom 3, though, so not too bad. (Update: Not Bottom 3. Not suprised.)
Aretha Franklin's "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman"

She certainly didn't sing terribly, but in my opinion, these last two weeks have not been her best.  I doubt she'll be in bottom 3, though, since America seems to love her.  We'll have to wait and see!

James Durbin: Staying. Definitely MUST stay
George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

Amazing.  Simply amazing.  He even got misty-eyed during his performance.  Good show, chap, good show.

Scotty McCreary:  I wouldn't mind seeing this kid leave.  Not at all. (Update: No dreams came true for me this week.  He's still here.  Again, not surprised.)
Elvis Presley's "That's All Right"

He gave a good performance last night, I can't deny that.  And he did change up his usual Country routine...but I CANNOT get over the way he sings out the side of his mouth, and holds his microphone off to the side.  Every time he performs, I just can't wait for him to drop the mic!  Unfortunately, he never does.  I'm sure he'll stay though.  Ho hum.

Pia Toscano:  In my Bottom 3 (Update: WENT HOME! I ain't mad at that!)
Tina Turner's "River Deep Mountain High"

Am I the only one who finds Pia completely annoying?  At least she didn't do another ballad this week, BUT she still did her usual left-hand swimming routine.  Why am I not surprised?  I wouldn't be sad to see her go.

And another jumpsuit?  Really?  The way she wears them makes her look fat, when she isn't big at all!  How dumb.

Stefano Langone:  Stay!  Please stay. (Update: Bottom 3 - I was terrified.)
Percy Sledge's "When A Man Loves A Woman"

Amazing!  Love this guy.  And even more amazing:  I think Stefano is shorter than Ryan Seacrest!

Paul McDonald: Staying!
Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues"

Last week's performance wasn't his best, but this week, Pauly is back!  This performance was exactly what he needed to keep him out of the Bottom 3, so let's hope America's IQ level hasn't dropped since last week's eliminations.
