Miss World - Philippines 2011 To Air on GMA-7

Last night, Cory Quirino's CQ Global Quest Inc. and the management of GMA Network officially launches the Miss World-Philippines beauty pageant at the SMDC Showroom of SM Mall of Asia Complex after the successful contract signing between GMA executives Mr. Jimmy Duavit (President and COO) and Ms. Wilma and the Chairwoman and CEO of CQ Global Quest - Cory Quirino last Tuesday, March 22, at the boardroom of GMA Network Center.

The said contract signing was decided after Bb. Pilipinas, which is now in tie-up with ABS-CBN, lost the franchise of the prestigious Miss World pageant to Cory Quirino‘s CQ Global Quest Inc. The said company will now hold the search for the country’s representative to Miss World pageant beginning this year.

Composer and arranger Louie Ocampo will write the theme song of the newly-born pageant while sculptor Eduardo Castrillo will design the crown.

According to Cory, she personally prefers GMA to become their media partner because of its excellent track record in staging beauty pageants in the past.

The Miss World-Philippines coronation night will be held on July 30, 2011 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Plenary Hall. This year's winner will take home P1 million cash prize and a brand new condominium unit courtesy of SM Development Corporation (SMDC) - the biggest prizes in the history of beauty pageants in the country.
