Karylle, Sam Concepcion and DZMM Anchors, Run For 25 Scholars in "Takbo Para Sa Karunungan"


Karylle and Sam Concepcion of “ASAP Rocks” prove that they take their role model-status to heart as they lead the celebrities who will run at the DZMM “Takbo Para Sa Karunungan” fun run on Sunday, March 13, at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.




The two talented artists will be joined by DZMM anchors Noli “Kabayan” De Castro, Winnie Cordero, Gerry Baja, Richard Steele, Vic Lima, Cory Quirino, Ahwel Paz, Gretchen Fullido, Ariel Ureta, Jobert Sucaldito, Jasmin Romero, Carl Balita, Francine Prieto, Bobby Yan, Jing Castañeda, Sol Aragones and ABS-CBN Manila Radio Division Head Peter Musngi.




Singers Miguel Mendoza, Cris Pastor, and Yael Yuzon of Sponge Cola, and theater actor Marco Mañalac also committed to the run.

Together with thousands of other runners from all walks of life, they will be running for the benefit of 25 young scholars from Metro Manila, particularly the areas affected heavily by Typhoon Ondoy.

This is the 12th edition of the annual fun run for a cause of DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and DZMM TeleRadyo, the leading AM radio station in Mega Manila and cable news channel in the country, respectively.

Aside from bringing the first is news, DZMM continues to be busy in public service efforts such as the DZMM TLC (Teaching Learning Caring) clinic-on-wheels and classroom-on-wheels project. DZMM TLC has visited areas devastated by Typhoon Ondoy to give resident free medical check-up and learning sessions to children since it was launched in November 2010.

Meanwhile, the 25 scholars aren’t only ones to benefit in “Takbo Para Sa Karunungan,” as DZMM offers prizes not only to the first three male and female finishers in the 3km, 5km, and 10km races. The biggest contingents from schools, companies, government agencies, and non-government organization and families will also be awarded,
